Cookie Policy
Cookie Policy
To keep up with your preferences and the current Internet technologies, we use the “Cookie Files” feature. This is a function of your browser that allows sites like ours to store some little data on your device. This information can be used to track your activities, save your settings, or distinguish between you and a bot.
Introduction
Our Cookie Policy describes how we use the data we save in your storage. This is an addition to the Privacy Policy, which explains your overall confidentiality rights. We recommend you read both so that you will understand how we process your data.
Cookies are widely used by sites on the Web, but our approach is slightly different than that of many sites. By default, only technical & sessional files are used. For cookies that are needed for tracking and advertising, you must show your consent first. Alternatively, you can abstain from extra cookies, so that this technology will only be used for a better experience.
What are Cookies?
These are little text files we store in your browser folder. They are set in the background as you visit our site, and then they’re being sent automatically. From our side, we can set, read, and remove cookies, but only the ones that are related to our site. We do not have access to your data on other platforms, excluding the third-party widgets.
Cookies can be used to link your past activities with the current ones, but they do not hold information that would let us identify you. They also have no sensitive data by default, unless you have shown consent to tracking. If you have agreed to the extra information being collected, you can opt out anytime. It is also possible to contact us to remove the information we know about you and store it on our side, per the Privacy Policy.
How and Why We Use Cookies
We understand your desire to know how this feature related to your data may be used. Given we follow the transparency principles, here is a comprehensive list of cases we need cookie files:
- Tracking. Analysing your past actions and understanding your current preferences.
- Settings. Changes that are not linked to your account are saved on your side.
- Sessions. Temporary data needed for one time is saved in your browser and automatically removed once you close the tab.
- Security. We protect our site from harmful bots by checking which technologies they support, including cookies.
- Social Media & Integrations. Some of our pages have widgets and informers provided by third parties. They rely on cookie files, too. For example, social network buttons need such files so that you will not have to sign in every time you want to share our content.
All cookies have time limits, after which they are considered expired and automatically deleted during your next session on our site. You also can remove cookies manually or set your browser to clean such data once you close it.
This list is complete: the cookies cannot be used for anything not mentioned above. If we want to handle the data for purposes not described here, we will have to revise our policy first.
Your Rights
Since cookies are stored on your device, you can manage them without any additional requests to our side. If you wish to delete such data, you can do so anytime. Here is a process of cookie removal in Firefox:
- Launch the browser. Open the menu in the top right corner and select “Settings”.
- Open the “Privacy & Security” section. Scroll to the “Cookies and Site data” part and click “Manage Data…”.
- Find our domain in the table and choose it. Hit “Remove Selected”.
- Click “Save Changes”. Confirm your choice in the modal.
This would reset any cookies set by our site. They will only come back if you visit our pages in the future. If you plan to use this platform continuously, set your browser to delete the temporary data as you close the app. You can also use the “Incognito” mode, which will do this task without any extra settings.
As with any other rights about your privacy, you can contact us at [email protected], if you have any questions. We will respond within three days. In the meantime, do the steps to enhance your privacy on your side. You can even fully block all the cookies, but this would break this site’s functionality. A softer, yet effective approach is to use plugins to block trackers and adjust the “Privacy Protection” mode in your browser.
